Town builds Townie, a personal AI assistant that connects to a knowledge worker's email, calendar, Slack, documents and other work tools, learns how they work, and then carries out day-to-day tasks. Each Townie is a user-configured character with its own name, appearance and personality, and runs pre-built or custom routines such as auto-inbox, morning briefing and schedule optimization rather than waiting to be prompted. The company was founded in late 2024 by Jean-Denis Greze, former CTO of Plaid, and Tony Vincent, a former applied AI director at Google. It has raised roughly $73M in total: an $18M seed led by First Round Capital in early 2025 and a $55M Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz in June 2026, when it came out of beta.
