Its DOME smart cages use near-infrared cameras, microphones and AI to continuously monitor rodents in their home cage, automatically measuring health and behavior parameters such as movement, sleep and food intake for multiple animals at once. The company positions this as replacing manual observation methods that date to the 1960s, aiming to cut cost, improve reproducibility and reduce animal handling. Within a month of launch it reported over 100 labs, companies and institutions signing up for cages.
