Alpha Design AI builds ChipAgents, an agentic AI environment for semiconductor design and verification. Its agents turn natural-language specifications into RTL design specs and Verilog/SystemVerilog code, generate UVM testbenches, run simulations, and autonomously debug and root-cause failures inside existing EDA toolchains. The company was founded in 2024 in Goleta, California by UCSB professor William Yang Wang and says the platform is deployed at more than 120 semiconductor companies, including MediaTek and Micron. It has raised a Series A that expanded to $134 million from investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, B Capital, Micron, MediaTek and Ericsson.
